Every Tuesday, we will be picking one of our original songs, and telling the story behind the music!!!  This week, it's a love song!!  So, open up your hearts and enjoy FUSION!

Writing a love song was easy for PJ. He had fallen, hard, for someone who lived far away. To say the relationship was tough is an understatement. But, none of that matters when it's love, right?

"I just wrote what I was feeling at the time. The song was about overcoming distance and adversity. Imagine getting something you've always wanted. Then, never getting to see it. Not even knowing if it would still be around the next day."

     The song talks about devotion.

"I wanted to say and do whatever it took to maintain this relationship. It was reassuring to put those feelings on paper. It was even more meaningful to put it into a song. I had just picked up guitar again and was relearning chords. But, magically, some beautiful sounds emerged and somehow it fit the words."
A poignant, hopeful song with a twist of humor, it was fun to write. Phil and Taylor jumped in to finish their parts.

"No matter what happens, I will never forget my first love. 'Even when I'm dead, she'll be in my head.' Maybe so."

Fusion | Written by P.J. Cruz and Phil Cruz

I remember when
Her eyes crashed into mine
Ever since then I'd do anything to make her mine
In the end when I'm dead
She'll be in my head
Even then I'll remember everything she said!

And I'll remember
This is forever
Though pulled by space and time
We're still together
She's my delusion
There's no confusion
I remember when we met
Ever since then all it's really been is...

Despite what people say I don't think she's a drug
Yeah my hearts addicted but all I want is a hug

And I'll remember
This is forever
Though pulled by space and time
We're still together
She's my delusion
There's no confusion
I remember when we met
Ever since then all it's really been is...

(Bridge/solo/bridge)

And I'll remember
This is forever
Though pulled by space and time
We're still together
She's my delusion
There's no confusion
I remember when we met
Ever since then all it's really been...
I know I won't forget
I'm willing to make a bet
Stop!
That word is not enough
Can't count the times that's it's been said
Since your intrusion
I can't remember if you would
If you would look
And lean in close to me
And get close enough to start the fusion.
